Four dance forums namely Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi dances were performed by the artistes from different parts of the country.
The spectacular Odissi dance items like Ganesh Vandanam, Mulang Dayanam and Moksha presented by Garima Bhattacharya from Kolkatta. Lakshminarayana Jina from Bangalore had presented Kathak Dance items like Ananda Tandav, Ganesh Vandan, Trinat and received laurels from the audience.
Impressive Bharatanatyam items like Pushpanjali and Alarimpu were performed by Jaykrishnan from the state of Kerala and Vineetha Srinandan of Mumbai. Andhra Pradesh dance forum Kuchipudi was performed by Sri Ramaleela, Rajani, Anjali, and Hasini. The artistes presented the items Ananda tandavam and Jhunuta Sabdam.
In a meeting organised on this occasion the chief Guest Dr D Vijaya Bhaskar, CEO, Andhra Pradesh State Creative and Culture Corporation said the culture of a society will be measured by the living traditional art forums.
He also added that the art forums will be protected by the Government. Penugonda Anjali (Hyderabad) and Chatla Rajani Reddy (Vizag) were presented with the ‘Nritya Priya’ award and Sri Ramaleela, Hasini and Saisri were presented with the ‘Nritya Deepika’ award on this occasion.

Navratri fasting tips

One of the most awaited festive seasons of the year, Navratri is beginning on September 21. Each of the nine days of this festival is devoted to the worshipping of the nine forms of Goddess Shakti.
Navratri is a time of fasting, to rinse out the body and build its immunity for the coming winter season. While at this time most people refrain themselves from eating grains, pulses and meat, on the other hand, they end up indulging in unhealthy food to satisfy their cravings.
People may be thinking that fasting during Navratri will serve their motto of fitness and wellness, but it may actually do harm to their body by consuming fried snacks and greasy food. Hence, just to keep up with the seasonal changes, a good and healthy diet is a mustand this is exactly where fasting during Navratri plays a vital role.
Here are some expert tips to remain healthy while you fast:

• 1. It is better to have small meals at regular intervals as it helps in maintaining the blood glucose levels and keep the body fuelled up to go through the day.
• 2. It is always recommended to have proper consumption of water to keep the body hydrated. Other fluids that can be added to the list like coconut water, green tea, buttermilk and lemon water are also great.
• 3. Although a lot of fasting recipes include fried food items but it is better to replace them with baked, roasted or grilled vegetables to make the meal healthier.
• 4. Pairing foods rich in carbohydrates and fibers is a good option for a healthy diet. The food items like potatoes and sabudana (extensively used in fasting) are a high carbohydrate source that can be clubbed with fibrous vegetables like capsicum, tomatoes, spinach and cabbage. Kuttu, a kind of flour used abundantly in Navratri, is also a wonderful combination of carbohydrates (70-75%) and protein (20-25%).
• 5. Amaranth (Rajgiri grains) is an incredible source of protein that can be included in the menu during fasting. You can whip up an amaranth porridge with milk or even stir it up as savourydaliya with lots of vegetables.
• 6. Focus on concentrated sources of energy like nuts and dry fruits to keep getting the energy throughout the day. Eating whole fruit is always better than juice as it will give you the required fibre and make you feel full. Add extra serving of dairy product especially curds and cottage cheese in the form of buttermilk or lassi to your diet.
• 7. Adding samak rice to the diet makes it tasteful and is easy on the digestive system. People having a sweet tooth can curb their craving by indulging in samak rice kheer along with fruits.
• 8. The "special salt" also known as ‘Sendha Namak’ taken during Navratri is very beneficial to health as it helps in the absorption of nutrients. 
• 9. Stay off refined sugar and substitute it with healthier alternatives like jaggery or honey.
• 10. Exercise is a must thing to do even while a person is fasting. A session of yoga in the morning and brisk walk for 40-50 mins in the evening helps the body to remain fit and prevents lethargy. 

Al-Qaeda militant arrested in Delhi

Al-Qaeda militant arrested in Delhi reveals details of his network in India
Samuin Rahman, a suspected Al-Qaeda militant arrested by Delhi Police, has told cops about ten other operatives that he was in touch with.
Samuin Rahman, a British national and Al-Qaeda (AQ) militant, who is in police custody of the Special Cell told the investigators that September has hardly been lucky for him.
Sources observed him sitting quiet following the arrest. "It was September 2014, when I was apprehended by the Bangladesh police and now Indian cops have arrested me," sources quoted him saying.
It was learnt that Rahman was radicalised in a London jail, where he was imprisoned for 18 months in a drunken driving case. After getting released, he sought help of an Arabic teacher in learning the Quran in the Middle East.
He then went to Mauritania and was influenced by salafi teachings. Soon he was recruited by leaders of Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) that told him to go to Syria and fight for Al Nusra - an AQ affiliate.
According to his confessions during interrogation, he had been in touch with around ten AQ operatives, who were under him, through Facebook.
"While talking about the whereabouts of the operatives, places that come in mind are Kashmir, Northeast, Delhi, Bihar and Jharkhand," sources said claiming that more arrests are likely to be made soon.
Sources added Rahman was very tech-friendly and was keeping a close tab on news related to Rohingyas. The mobile phone that has been seized from his possession, helped the cops in getting access to various drafts saved in his mails. Senior police officials told Mail Today that the mobile phone has been sent for forensic tests.
Delhi Police said he was planning terror attacks in India and a war against Myanmar. He was being helped by Qaeda terrorist in India, who are being identified.
During interrogation, he told police that while being in Syria, their group came to know about the 'atrocities' on Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar. As he had stayed in Bangladesh for long, he was selected to raise a fighter group there. In 2014, he arrived in Bangladesh to radicalise youths to join Al Qaeda with the help of one Yasin, an old Al Qaeda cadre.
He visited Silhet, Nabiganj, Dhaka and other places and radicalised dozens of youths in Bangladesh regarding their entry into Myanmar from Chittagong. However, he was arrested only released on bail in April this year.
He confessed that he was in contact with his outfit members via Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram. After his release on bail, he contacted Mohammad Jowlani (a Syrian), head of AQ (Al Nusra front), who had asked him to go to India.
In July 2017, he entered India to set up base in Mizoram and Manipur to fight for the Rohingyas, raise funds and incite youths to fight for similar causes.

A portion of a dam in Bhagalpur's Kahalgaon came down crashing hours before it was to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The dam built at an estimated cost of Rs 389.31 crore is part of the ambitious Gateshwar Panth Canal Project which was planned to improve the poor land irrigation system in the region.
Several low-lying areas were flooded as water from the collapsed dam rushed into residential areas in Kahalgaon.
"The dam broke due to release of water in full capacity. The incident has not caused any damage to the newly constructed part of the project," Minister of Water Resources, Lallan Singh said.
CM Nitish Kumar, who was supposed to inaugurate the project today, had to cancel his visit.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav blamed rampant corruption under CM Nitish Kumar for the fiasco.

Ryan school owners face arrest, Punjab and Haryana High Court rejects bail petition

The owners of the Ryan International School chain now face arrest after the Punjab and Haryana High Court today rejected their anticipatory bail petitions and refused any stay on their arrests.
Justice Inderjit Singh, while hearing the anticipatory bail petition of Ryan Augustine Pinto, Rayan Augustine Francis Pinto, and Grace Pinto, issued a notice to the Haryana government for its reply.
The court also refused to stay their arrest following the brutal murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, who was found with his throat slit in the washroom of Ryan's Gurgaon branch.
The Ryan International group's CEO Ryan Pinto and his parents Augustine Pinto, the founding chairman, and Grace Pinto, the group's managing director had approached the High Court last week, seeking anticipatory bail.
On September 14, the Bombay High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of the three trustees of Ryan Group in connection with the murder of the boy.
Thakur, a class 2 student, was found with his throat slit in the school washroom in Gurgaon on September 8. Bus conductor Ashok was arrested in connection with the crime.
